The AANP certification exam

Certification is essential for advancing the nursing career because it broadens the knowledge base while exposing nursing staff to a speciality track. While there are different certification exams in the United States for nurses, I chose the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification. The rationale for choosing AANP certification is attributed to Arkansas’s nurse practitioners (NPs) environment compared to the neighbouring states. NPs are not allowed to practice fully In Arkansas, where state laws advocate for reduced practice (AANP, 2018). This suggests that NPs require a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
